Child, Youth & Family is a service of the Ministry of Social Development, and is part of a network of agencies aiming to build an environment where child abuse is not tolerated.

We provide counselling for a wide variety of clients including

  • ACC sexual abuse counselling
  • Domestic and Family Violence Counselling for protected persons, children and young people
  • Employee Assistance Counselling (EAP)
  • Relationship Counselling
  • Supervision for students and other professionals
  • Counselling for people affected by Homicide
  • General Counselling

We also have a 24/7 crisis response service for all people affected by sexual abuse – Ph 09 277 9324 or email crisis@csccounselling.org.nz for a non urgent response


Eastern Women's Refuge

The Auckland Women's Refuge is a membership affiliated National Collective of Independent Women's Refuge (NCIWR).

We are a not for profit non-government organisation that relies heavily on volunteer support. The Eastern Refuge is located in Pakuranga. For more information on what the refuge does and provides visit their website.

Family Violence Advice and Support Service (FVASS)

This service is staffed by trained family violence support workers, who are there to offer advice, support and referrals to anyone concerned about family violence.

Location: Howick Information Service, 91 Picton Street, Howick

Hours of operation: 10 am to 1 pm Monday to Friday

No appointment is necessary. The service is open to anyone in the Howick, Pakuranga, Botany (Manukau East) community. It is a drop-in concept, operating in a safe, friendly and confidential setting.

The service has the backing of local family violence service providers; providing information and referrals to all those agencies that are operating in the region. It is designed to offer specialist advice to:

  • Those wishing to help a friend or family member but not sure how.
  • Families or individuals experiencing violence and in need of advice and support.
  • Important: the service is there also for those who are wishing to make the changes necessary to stop hurting their family.

Please offer your support to this initiative by letting colleagues and other agencies know that this service is available and by referring clients and concerned family members to this specialist advice service.

Inner City Womens Group

Providing support and practical information to enable women to become free from the cycle of abuse and violence.

Man Alive

Man Alive is New Zealand's biggest and most comprehensive men's centre dedicated, since 1996, to working with men and boys on issues that affect their lives.

Man Alive runs a new outreach programme, 'Men in Relationships' in Manukau East.

NZ Sikh Women's Association

The New Zealand Sikh Women's Association Inc. is a women's organisation that assists women of Sikh-Indian origin, no matter where they come from.

We assist the community in overcoming violence and ensuring a violence free community.


Pakuranga-Eastern Manukau Citizens Advice Bureau

The New Zealand Association of Citizens Advice Bureau is an independent community organisation whose member bureau and specialist services around New Zealand provide information, advice, advocacy and support to individuals.

The services are free, impartial and confidential. The bureau have a comprehensive and regularly updated referral database and information resources which help our volunteers to help you.


RAVAH Fund - Rotary Against Violence at Home

You can apply to this fund to assist clients who are victims of Family Violence or at risk of Family Violence.

The Fund will assist you to get a variety of interventions, from emergency aid to counselling. You may only apply for clients who reside in the Manukau East area. See here for the application form and further details. (Lindsay - Need a link and a form).

South Auckland Family Violence Prevention Network

The South Auckland Family Violence Prevention Network (SAFVPN) is a network of agencies and individuals working in the field of family violence in the Counties Manukau area.
